Back on My Feet, a national organization operating in 11 major cities including Baltimore, combats homelessness through the power of running, community support, essential employment and housing resources.
On August 5th, Jellyfish proudly participated in the 2016 Baltimore Sneaks Come Out at Night Corporate Challenge! With anticipations high, especially those of us that hadn’t trained in a while, we excitedly piled into a few cars and made the trek from Harbor East to Druid Hill Park.
Each year, Back on My Feet partners with corporations to host a 15k fundraiser. Each participating company sponsors a team of runners, in addition to individual runners that also raise money.
During the race, each Jellyfish runner was responsible for a 5K leg of the 15K relay. We split up into teams of 3 and got to running, relying on Gatorade stops, music, and each other to make it across the finish line.
The sunset across the lake made Druid Hill Lake a beautiful site to run around. We all crossed the line and were rewarded with free ice cream provided by local sponsors. Naturally, we finished the celebration with a few cold brews nearby.
We had a great time and are honored to support an organization that provides hope and resources to those individuals experiencing homelessness. This was their biggest event yet raising enough money to support over 53 members of the Baltimore community for an entire year.
Thanks to Back on My Feet for an excellent race and go team Jellyfish!
