Nick Fettiplace shares his implied links and Penguin integration wishes with Econsultancy in their ‘SEO’s 2015 wishlist: what would you like to see happen in search?’ article.
SEO Director Nick, highlights the influence brand strength is set to have on SEO as the relationship between the two grows in the form of brand mentions serving as ‘implied links’.
Nick implied that the responsibility is seemingly now more in the hands of the daily marketer than ever; “…it is important for marketeers to begin 'tying together’ their channel activities in a smarter way, knowing that what they do ‘over here’ is now more likely to affect performance ‘over there’ and vice-versa.”
Nick’s second wish of Penguin integration, he points out, is in line with Google’s John Mueller’s recent suggestion that Google were “getting closer to a greater integration of Penguin into the core algorithm”.
Nick hopes this will go some way to prevent people from having to tirelessly correct their algorithmically penalised backlink profiles.
