Business Development Director
The Role
We have an exceptional opportunity for a Business Development Director to join our Baltimore or NYC office. You will have responsibility for growing our US business and leading business pitches. You will also work closely with our Dynamix team, who is a certified Google Management Platform reseller.
Responsibilities
- This individual will focus on lead generation, business development discussions, contract
negotiations, account planning, and long-term opportunity identification - Build strong brand-awareness for the agency through outreach including trade shows, networking events, meetings, cold calls, etc.
- Develop, foster, and grow relationships with marketers and brands, while delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding client expectations
- Manage and execute agency’s marketing strategy and lead nurturing efforts including ongoing insight development, content development, and outbound contacts via email, phone, social, and direct mail
- Providing a strategic orientation to pitches and business development conversations to understand client needs and demonstrate Jellyfish's unique value in solving them.
- Write, deploy, and follow up on outbound prospecting and nurture emails
- Create business development content including whitepapers, POVs, presentation decks, newsletters
- Work collaboratively with senior management on RFP’s, prospect meetings, pitches and presentations
Skill Requirements
- 10+ years of successful business development experience within an agency environment including digital marketing, strategy, digital media, programmatic, biddable media etc.
- Talent for negotiation and the ability to build long-term relationships with our partners
- Demonstrated ability to work with the marketing team to communicate the Jellyfish message across the media landscape
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret business data from a variety of sources, such as industry databases, research reports, white papers, trade publications, press releases, annual reports, and other sources to identify new account opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; detail-oriented, self-directed and able to set priorities
- A team player, who also works well independently, thinks creatively, solves problems and takes initiative
- Demonstrates empathy in understanding explicit and implicit client prospect needs
- Superior presentation and strategic writing skills. High level of proficiency in
- PowerPoint. Examples will be required
