The Role

We're looking for an experienced Director, Web Content Strategy who will develop, lead, and grow Jellyfish content strategy offering.  A successful candidate is a true content guru – designing for adaptive content, obsessed with content quality, structure, performance management, and ongoing content optimization.

 

In addition to a strong strategic mindset, we are looking for an individual who successfully balances leadership, creative, and technical skills. 

Responsibilities

  • Assess content opportunities and develop content strategies to meet client goals and deliver excellent user experience.
  • Oversee content strategy development as well as creation and quality of content strategy deliverables (content inventories, audits, gap analyses, taxonomic systems, metadata style. Training, etc.)
  • Work with clients to ensure content is relevant and up-to-date
  • Utilize web analytics and performance data to recommend strategy and improvements to the sites.
  • Develop comprehensive content requirements, content models, and business rules for meaningful content presentation and personalization opportunities as well as generate user experience recommendations and improvements to the sites.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Creative, Analytics, Development and Account Management to align on strategy, define priorities, share site performance and outline improvement opportunities and plans.
  • Run periodic competitive analysis of other sites. Work with internal teams to determine if the results of the analysis should drive change within the sites.
  • Understand key audiences, set content goals and performance metrics
  • Establish content leadership internally and for the clients, contribute to the process development
  • Lead and mentor senior level strategists
  • Be the agency’s content advocate, aiding with the discipline’s integration within the organization
  • Develop content creation and maintenance tools and templates for internal and external use
  • Contribute to new business development initiatives and pitches
  • Provide level-of-effort and time estimates for project deliverables to assist Account and Project Management teams

Skill Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in content creation for online experiences, website, and other digital media
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Managed website content production and publishing
  • Prior experience in a digital agency environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead content strategy on new web builds across project lifecycle
  • Experience with ongoing content recommendations and optimization
  • Has worked with digital analytical packages, with and understanding of technical requirements and limitations – Google Analytics preferred
  • Deep understanding of current and future digital trends across platforms
  • Solid background in UX, SEO and SEM principles and methodologies
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Sitecore, WordPress, Drupal, AEM experience preferred
