Hi, I am Shamsul (pronounced Sham-sool) and I lead the Paid Social department.
I started my career in Paid Search and had a front row seat when Paid Social was first blossoming into a channel that was getting advertisers' attention. I had the privilege of running the first Paid Social campaign for Samsung and many other brands across many global markets since then. From the days of getting followers and likes to now showing tangible business results, Paid Social has always been a channel I've had a lot of love for since it was one of the truly first people-based marketing platforms. Moving from cookies to users has had a resounding impact and the industry has taken note, making it the norm for other disciplines as well.
After working for every holding company, what I affectionately refer to as the "holding company merry-go-round", I saw the light and decided to make the move to Jellyfish. Why Jellyfish? Well, I've known about Jellyfish long before they even had a US footprint since a good friend of mine worked in the Brighton, UK office. Since the expansion across the pond, I felt this would be the right place for me to help grow the Paid Social practice, a role I've been doing for the last few years working with a variety of clients ranging from Auto to Travel. I look forward to bringing my experience and working with the rest of the brilliant minds across the Jellyfish network to give our clients best-in-class integrated work.
When I'm not working, I can be found watching or playing soccer (or football as it's properly known around the rest of the world). I'm also the proud father of a toddler who keeps my cardio in tip-top form, but at the cost of my sleep. Fair trade, I guess.
