If you’re looking to build a career in Digital Analytics, then we have an exceptional opportunity for ambitious graduates looking to learn.  Our analytics team needs several talented candidates to join our analytics academy. We don’t expect you to have prior experience, just a passion to learn and willingness to work really hard and become an expert in this fast moving and rapidly growing sector.

 

Computer science or programming backgrounds would be an advantage.

 

Your apprenticeship will consist of three months intensive learning, where you will start to get involved in hands on project work whilst being guided by your mentor. Our aim is that you will be ready to graduate at the end of the first quarter and if you are successful, you will be invited to stay on at Jellyfish as a permanent employee.

 

You will be exposed to all types of analytics work, from the technical nuts and bolts of analytics platforms like Google Analytics and tag management tools, to data analysis and data visualisation.

Responsibilities

  • An unquestionable and relentless desire to learn new skills.
  • Keeps pace with the scheduled learning program, meeting all required deadlines and passing assignments
  • Commitment to take and pass the GAIQ exam as well as attend and pass the available Google Analytics Academy modules within the three-month period
  • Independent of planned learning material provided by Jellyfish, embarks upon significant extra reading on relevant subject matter including blogs, industry white-papers, etc.
  • At the end of the three-month training period, can spot basic issues with Analytics account set ups
  • Deliver work set on time, and within budget
  • Produce clear and detailed client facing reports to identify areas of opportunity to improve campaign performance
  • Show that you have the potential to become a key team member who sets an example to colleagues

By the end of your first three months, you must be comfortable with the following core competencies:

 

  1. Google Tag Manager.
    • This is a core tool that the team are using daily. It’s essential that members of the analytics team can deal with basic requests unassisted.
    • Has a good understanding of the de-bug console
    • The employee can implement any non-code based requests confidently and accurately. This includes

                                               - Auto event tracking

                                               - Data layers

                                               - Adding pixels such as AdWords, google analytics, floodlights, etc.

 

  1. Testing and validation.
    • The employee must be able to test and validate analytics code in a basic manner.
    • This includes having a good working knowledge of http fox or the chrome developers console
    •  Basic de-bugging and identification of problems is essential.
    • Has a basic knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery and can create simple scripts.

 

  1. Google Analytics
    •  Level of understanding around the console and common code requirements and configuration.
    •  Understands clearly how to configure goals both URL and event based.
    •  Has a clear understanding of how to implement cross domain and cross-device tracking.
    •  Understands configuration for custom metrics and dimensions / custom variables.
    •  Has a solid understanding of event tracking and how this can be used effectively.

 

  1. Data analysis & Insight
    •  Has a good understanding of how to assess website and channel performance.
    •  Can create clear and insightful analysis.
    •  Competent with data visualisation tools utilised by the agency.
    • Is comfortable creating dashboards using Data Studio

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field would be an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office products, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint or Advanced knowledge of Google G-Suite products
  • Highly analytical and data driven
  • Numerically skilled – comfortable with numbers
  • Relish working in a fast-paced environment for some major brands across the globe
  • Demonstrates a structured and methodical way of working, with the ability to cope with competing demands and effectively prioritise tasks
  • Exhibits a high level of attention to detail
